Yippee!

Uncle Steve is here!

End of the Week Wrap-Up

Today it is Colonial Day in 5th grade. As you can see, one of our pilgrims is not real thrilled with dressing up.

Emily surprised her teacher with a birthday cake that she made.

Mr. Short Ears

Koele got a haircut and since we aren't good about brushing him, they had to trim his ears pretty short. Morgan has been calling him "Mr Short Ears"

Mighty Knights & Fire Crackers

Max had his first official basketball game today. He was nervous before the game but once we got to the gym, he was fine. He had a smile on his face the whole time and really played well. His dribbling was great and he even scored a basket!

I apologize for the poor quality of pictures of the girls game. I was the official score keeper and since this was my first time on the job...it was a bit hard to photo also. Emily is bringing the ball down the court and Morgan is number 5.

This shows Morgan (#5) setting a great screen for the guard and Emily is on the right trying to get open.

New Paint Job

The kids had a nice pink bathroom pre-Max....but it was time for a change.

Today's Mod Podge Project

I decided that the plain mat in the frame needed to be updated. These promises were read at our wedding in '95. I just hung them in Wayne's & my bathroom...I think it will be a good thing to look at every day.

Hair Bling

The girls went to a birthday sleepover last night. The birthday girl's mother is a hair stylist and so all the girls got these fancy, sparkly extension things. You have to look pretty closely...they both have about 5 in their hair. They can wash their hair and brush it and they should last 2 weeks.

Morgan got a Bedazzler from Grandma Sue for Christmas and bedazzled her first pair of jeans tonight. Let the bedazzling begin!

Today's Projects

This is the wreath that I am making for Emily's room. I am about 5 pom poms short and ran out of yarn.

Decoupaged frame mat with left over paper...now I need to find the perfect picture to put in it.

What to do with leftover yarn???

...make Pom Poms. This is my latest craze. Look for pom pom wreaths, projects, etc in the near future.

Emily was in charge of a study group at our house after school on Friday....I think they got some work done :-)

Morgan took control of the kitchen and made some brownies all by herself.

More "Afters"

Here is Emily's room complete after her closet remodel.

Morgan's new bookcase that she got from Santa.

Family Rules

This is not an original idea. Jill found this Family Rules Canvas on a fun blog Owlhaven. The minute I saw it I knew I wanted to make one for our family. I still need to put the final clear coat on it and then I am probably going to hang it by the kitchen table.

Max's bookshelf is complete

The BIG K

I decided that I wanted to do the closet as cheap as possible( more $ for my crafts!), so I was going to use paint that we already had in the garage. I didn't have enough to do the whole closet one color so 3 walls are "reef" and one wall is "skyline". Wasn't too sure how well they would go together....but I was thrilled to find some paper that had both colors in it and decoupage my K!

First Few Days of January

Duck party at the Raleighs

Festive Fans

Maddie & Peyton came over after the Duck party and had a sleepover. Madison & Max are beyond addicted to the new Mario Bros for the Wii. As the girls said, " the Wii is bringing Maddie & Max closer " :-)

BEFORE pics of the closet:

AFTER: today Wayne and I painted the closet and then I put my crafts into it even with the walls a little wet. I was so excited for my craft closet.
