Family Project

At school the girls are involved in a Passport program where they learn geography of the world and are tested every month. Once they complete a section they get a "passport stamp" for their passport. I volunteered to cut out these tiny stamps and sort them......thank goodness I have my helpers to help me.

Happy 1st Birthday Patrick

Rewards

Morgan has been working hard on her flashcards. Yesterday Mr. Thayer gave her a huge Hershey bar and a certificate stating that she completed the multiplication facts in 45 seconds.

The Latest Sport

Wayne bought the kids( so he says) lacrosse sticks and a ball. For some reason I am the only one who doesn't think lacrosse is an indoor sport.

School Lunch

Max and I just got back from having lunch at school with Emily, Morgan and their 3rd grade buddies. It definitely brings back memories of the lunchroom, lunch ladies, the smells, the sounds and how you have to scarf down your food in 15 minutes or you have to move to the "over flow table" Actually we didn't have an overflow table but the girls do. Emily was so embarrassed by everything I said.....not sure if I will be asked back :-)

Pump, Pump, Pump It Up

Max had his first "non-family" birthday party. He got the invitation 2 weeks ago and has been counting down the days. Travis, the birthday boy, is a classmate of Max's from Preschool. Max was all smiles telling his sisters all about it.

Back To Chicago

We had a great weekend with Grandma. Thanks Grandma for coming out for our basketball game and just hanging out with us. We miss you already!

Be My Valentine

Today was Max's Valentine's party at school. This was the first time he got to exchange Valentine cards with his classmates. He was so excited to give everyone theirs. When Emily got home from school she analyzed them with him. Tomorrow the girls have their parties.

Sleepover

Since August the girls have had their own rooms. When Grandma Sue was here they took turns sleeping with her in the guest bed. Since then, Grandma Sue's bed has been a thrill. The last 3 nights Emily, Morgan and Bear Bear( the life size panda bear in the middle) have slept together. Both Wayne and I mentioned how fun it is to see the girls sleeping together again. They both are growing up so fast that it makes me sentimental for the days of the twin babies in the same crib. Speaking of growing up....they are going to kill me when they realize I took a picture of them in the dark sleeping(the flash worked good !)

Worried About Wayne

I came up late this afternoon into the bedroom and Wayne was washing the inside and outside of our bedroom windows!!!! The sun was finally out this afternoon and he was motivated to clean the windows.....praying for more sunshine :-)

Perks

Today after the basketball game we scooted over to the NIKE employee store. The kids were busting out of their shoes. It is so nice to have an Uncle who works for NIKE so we can get some cool stuff for a great discount. Thanks Uncle Jim!

Family Movie Night

Tonight we celebrated the end of the week with a movie night. We had pizza, popcorn and watched E.T. The kids had never seen it and it had been years since Wayne and I had watched the movie. The girls really enjoyed it....I think it was a little scary for Max. Forgot how amazing the music is and how old I felt when I realized it came out in 1981! Fun Friday Night

Crazy Portraits

Morgan is taking an after school art class and came home with her first creation. This was written on the back of her picture. " Keeping in mind that faces are symmetrial, I designed a face. I then made and cut out facial features in two different colors. I glued the facial features so that one side of the face is in one color and the other side is in the second color."

Mad Scientist

The Science Fair is right around the corner, so tonight Morgan decided on hers and did her experiment. The question was " Does the color of food and drink affect whether or not people like it." She used milk and ice cream and her lab rats were Wayne, Emily and Max. She dyed the milk green, red and left one white. She did the same with the vanilla ice cream. Max LOVED the red drink and Wayne was totally disqusted by the green. They thought the red ice cream was strawberry and Emily thought the green was mint. All the milk was the same and all the ice cream was vanilla.....just a little food coloring. Morgan discovered that color does matter when your eating.

SuperBowl---Wayne style

We are having a low key Superbowl but Wayne has been preparing his "treats". Chips and Dip, buffalo wings and brautwurst. The kids love it when Dad is in charge of dinner.

Until Next Time.......

Saturday we had 3 basketball games to go to. All 4 girls did really well and Wayne and Jim are amazing coaches. So special to have Penny, Grandma Sue and Grandma Great here....we had the largest cheering section!
Today we had one final picture before they headed to the airport. Great weekend....lots of laughing, playing games, a nice dinner out last night and most important just time together. More pictures of the weekend on Jill's blog
