Fisherman's Bend, OR

We just got back from our first family camping trip. We were the rookies of the group--12 adults and 13 kids under ten.
Here is what packing for 2 nights looks like :-)

All the kids brought either their bike and or their scooters and spent hours going around and around the camp loop.

Morgan helped Wayne and I put up our tent...which actually the five of us fit in with a little room to spare.

Max and Cole had a lot of fun tending to the fire.

Aunt Jill fixing lunch for the crew.

The weather could not have been more perfect. The Santiam River is just steps away from the campsite and we all spent most of the afternoon there.

Ava & Emily

Max & Uncle Jim and either Cole or Carsten???

The Dad's on "river duty"

Helen & Morgan

The whole crew gearing up for smores.

All 13 munchkins--cousins, sisters, brothers, old friends and new friends, and even 3 sets of twins--all of them were really good well-behaved campers!

If you grew up in the 80's today was a sad day

Back in the "Billie Jean, Beat It, Thriller" days I loved Michael Jackson. I had his pictures all over my bedroom walls, I had a sequined glove necklace, I taped every time he was on tv and watched it over and over, and I tried to memorize the dance in the Thriller video.

Take Me Out To The Ball Game

So now that the girls are done with their sports....it's Wayne's turn. He is playing on his work's softball team. He got a couple good hits tonight and played 3rd base really well.

The picture below is from 8pm tonight. Wayne wanted to put his legs in the pool and cool them down because he is already stiff from the game. Next thing I know he has the kids, with all their clothes on, floating around with him. The joys of the summer schedule or lack there of.

Our Big Day in the City...in reverse order

Steve treated us to yummy pizza and salad at Mark and his condo in the city. Morgan said she wanted to live there because it was "so fancy"

We walked 7 city blocks in the rain to get to the American Girl store...one of the goals of the trip.

At Millennium Park they have these amazing sculpture/fountain things. Faces are projected on them and then the water comes flying out of the mouth.
