Cherishing Every Moment

Every night we have a beautiful sunset. It is truly unbelievable. I love that every night about 6:30 everyone in the surrounding condos migrate to the beach to watch the sunset. It is peaceful and beautiful and almost a way to say thank you for another gorgeous day.

Four Winds Sailing

Today we went snorkeling at Molokini.
The first picture is of Max with the Captain of the boat. They became buddies by the end of the trip. The shirt Max is wearing he won in a raffle on the ship....the only winner and he was thrilled

Here is Wayne and the girls snorkeling. The fish were amazing and all over the place. The coral on the bottom of the crater was incredible....it almost looked fake.

It's hard to see but it is a picture of a sea turtle that we saw on the way back. They are amazing and huge and stick their heads out of the water every once in awhile. The Captain said that this one probably weighs 85lbs and they can live over 100 years.

Aloha Friday

**this is actually Thursday night at sunset**

This morning we drove to the other side of the island to go visit the cemetery. We stopped in Makawao and picked up malasadas(a Filipino doughnut that Grandpa Tony loved) at the local bakery. We went to Wayne's dad site and ate them there.

We bought these beautiful leis that the girls wore until we got there....they smelled amazing. It was a special morning. A few tears but as Wayne said, "it's good to remember your Hawaiian roots and to teach the kids"

One the way back we stopped at the Maui Mall. Max wanted to check out the parrot at the pet store...he wanted to see if he remembered him from last year.

And of course no stop to the Maui Mall is complete with out getting some Guri Guri....a Japanese ice cream.

Today's Activities

Max had been asking to get Shaved Ice ever since we got here so of course we had to get some today. We got it "local style" with means there is a scoop of ice cream at the bottom!

This is for Uncle Jim....thought it was a good ad for NIKE

Emily's favorite thing to do in the ocean

This afternoon we drove north to the most northern point in Maui to check out the blowhole.

Softball Season Comes To An End

Tonight was the end of Wayne's softball tournament. They lost in the championship game...7-6 in the seventh inning. It was exciting and close but they came up in second place. All was well when both teams and their families went out for pizza and beer after the game.

In A Split Second

Today while making the kids lunch, I accidentally stabbed my hand in between the thumb and first finger. I was opening up a thing of cheese with a scissor and my hand slipped. So I was off to the Urgent Care for a tetanus shot and 3 stitches. I have never broken a bone or had stitches so this was a new experience for me.
I am fine but as you can see the kids were worried about me...Max was sharing his "bubba" with me :-)

Music Festival

Madison's 4th grade teacher plays the drums in a band and he was playing tonight at this cool outdoor festival. We met the Raleigh's there for dinner and dancing.

Big Rig Day!

Max & Wayne had a fun day checking out all the HUGE trucks....as you can see, he saw them all!
