We Ended the Year Very Productive

Max got Morgan's old bookcase and Wayne told him he could paint it however he wanted and all by himself. Today he started on the inside....he said he is going to paint the outside of it brown ?!



Emily got some cooking supplies for Christmas from Grandma Sue so she wanted to test them out. She looked up a sugar cookie recipe on the internet and she made them all by herself. Morgan helped her roll them out and use her new cookie cutters.

I am completely obsessed with these crafty blogs that I have found. I decided yesterday to clean out the walk in closet in the bonus room ( which was beyond full) and turn it into my own craft room. I need to paint the inside, find a desk and install shelves but so far I am loving it.
Today I put the Welcome sign on the inside of the door....this thrills me.




I put my random buttons in an old jar and then I decoupaged the lid with scrapbook paper.



Then I decoupaged this letter A.

When the snow started, Max was at his friend Grant's house.



The kids ended up playing for over an hour in the snow...perfect snowman snow.



Wayne and Koele decided to sneak in a nap while the kids were out in the cold.

The Crafts Continue

A Flurry Of Activity

The day started out with the annual making of the Christmas Eve meatballs.



Wayne is off for 2 weeks, so he is finding new projects. Number one on his list is making some new shelves in the garage to get our junk off the floor of the garage.




Emily has decided that she wants to change her room around. She moved EVERYTHING out of her closet and wants to put her bed in there with half of it sticking out.





Tonight she and Morgan painted the inside of the closet the same color as the rest of the room.

Special Outing With Dad

Wayne took Max to OMSI today. It was his first time and he was in heaven.

Today I had Frosty, a Nutcracker and Rudolph all in my front yard!





Emily & Morgan were the instrumental accompanists during a song at the Winter Sing-a-Long Assembly.






Emily is modeling the final outcome of the felted bag.




This is my attempt at trying to be crafty and make a ribbon tree. Note to self...paint the foam form first next time...or use non-see-through ribbon.

Booga Bag

I have finished knitting my bag and handles....now I am throwing them in the washing machine to felt them.

Tonight seemed like the perfect night to decorate cut-out Christmas cookies. The kids had a ball and there were lots of fingers being licked.











Wayne decided that the sugar induced crew was not for him so he folded laundry while he watched Sport Center.

Some times you just have to change it up a bit. Every day I feed Max lunch at 11am before he hops on the school bus. We both get kind of bored with the same routine, so today he had lunch in my bathtub!

Scrapbooking

Emily's friend, Nidhi came over today to scrapbook. Emily & Nidhi have put together a scrapbook for their teacher who is getting married this weekend. They have collected things from kids in the classroom and are putting it together.

Knitting Weather

The weather has been sunny but in the low 30's around here with the wind chill. I have been curling up on the couch with my knitting needles,lately. This is the beginning stages of a bag that I plan on felting also.

5th Grade Choir

Emily & Morgan have both joined the 5th grade choir. Today they had their first performance at the high school. They got to sing with another elementary school, the middle school and the high school choirs. Tomorrow they perform at the mall!

Max is Six Years Old!

PRE-Birthday Celebration

Grandma Tina leaves tomorrow morning so we decided to have an early celebration with her. First Max made his cupcakes for his party tomorrow.



Then Grandma and the girls made him a birthday cake.




We celebrated with pizza, watched a movie, and ended with birthday cake.



And he even got to open a couple presents.
