Caroling

Tonight the kids went caroling through our neighborhood with the other neighborhood kids.

Holiday Tea at the Heathman Hotel

This afternoon all the girls (Aunt Jill, Madison, Peyton, Grandma Sue, Me, Morgan and Emily) went to Tea at the Heathman. The hotel was decorated beautifully for Christmas. The kids enjoyed eating their bit sized items and drinking their own hot chocolate. Grandma Sue was showing them how you drink tea with your little pinkie finger sticking out. Peyton wins the award for fanciest sipper of tea :-)

Let the Festivities Begin

Grandma Sue and her 5 elves made the Christmas Eve meatballs this morning. All were happy to be part of the tradition.

Max had a birthday party for baby Jesus at preschool yesterday. He has been wearing the crown ever since :-)

Sad Morning

Today was Nemo's last day. The kids were sad but I told them he had a good long life for a goldfish.

Off to the Theater

The girls and I went to the Nutcracker this afternoon. Two of their friends were in the production so it was fun to know a couple of the ballerinas. We felt very festive afterwards.

Check Mate

Wayne has been wanting to teach the kids how to play chess. He bought a teaching Chess game that has arrows on the pieces to show where the piece can go. They seemed to like it so far.

Tigard Ink

Wayne worked from home this afternoon since we were having fiber optic cable/Internet installed. Since the technician guy was here from 12:30-5:30pm....the natives were getting restless, so Max decided to put one of his CARS tattoos on Dad. Wayne is so proud of his "tat." Little does he know that it will be on until 2008!

Max's First School Program

What a big night. Tonight was Max's preschool Christmas singing program. The church was packed-- at least a couple 100 parents. I was nervous for him because he doesn't like all those eyes on him. He did GREAT! He stood right in the middle, sang all the words and even did all the actions. Before we went to bed we did our nightly " favorite things". Max said "Going to my school thing and having Emily and Morgan watch me sing." I think he was so excited for the family to be going to HIS thing instead of his big sister's events. A very proud mom :-)

This summer Emily took a week long art class at a local studio here in Beaverton. Every month My Masterpiece Art Studio sends out their newsletter. Emily's art was featured in the October and December issue. In the top picture the four layered cake is hers and the couch is her creation in the bottom photo. Watch out Van Gough!

Taking Advantage of the Moment

Tonight I was semi- organized for dinner which lately has not been the case. The downstairs was fairly picked up and the kids were content. I decided to light all of my candles downstairs, have a glass of wine and read my book while I waited for Wayne to come home from work. It was so nice to enjoy the holiday decorations and BE in the moment. Might have to do this more often :-)

Tonight's Festivities

Tonight Morgan lost another tooth. It has been a long time since she has lost one....almost thought we were done.



Well the rain as stopped for a while so Wayne decided to put up the outdoor Christmas lights and the snowman. "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas"

Aunt Jill, Uncle Jim and Peyton helped Max celebrate his 4th birthday. Lots of fun presents, a pinata and a new big boy bike....great way to start out being four!

Guess Who's Coming To Dinner

Max woke up this morning and first thing he asked me was if he could play with Pey today. So after school Pey came over and spent the afternoon and had dinner with us. Max was in heaven and the girls enjoyed her too!

Thanksgiving at the Beach

We spent a wonderful Thanksgiving at Bella Beach, OR. We had fondue instead of turkey and blue skies instead of gray. It was the perfect non-traditional holiday!

Stir Crazy......Cabin Fever

Max didn't have school today and we have spent most of the day just around the house. I was doing laundry and he came in to see what I was doing. The outfit summed up our day :-)

I'm Back

I just got back from a nice long weekend in Phoenix. I went to visit an old college roommate and also attend the Women of Faith conference. Great weekend in the sun and warm weather but what a SURPRISE when I walked in the door. The kids and Wayne had decorated the whole downstairs for me, made a beautiful cake and a delicious dinner. I feel very lucky.....good to be home!

Early Celebration

Jill and Pey took me out for an early Birthday lunch to Pasta Veloce. It was fun to celebrate together.

For Madison

Madison was over at our house today. She and Emily were doing hair. Madison did a nice job on Ariel's hair. When she left, part of the hair was still wet and in curlers....Emily wanted her to see the finished product.

Night Owl

It is 10pm and Max is still awake. I came upstairs to make sure everyone was tucked in safe and sound and he was laying in his bed wide awake. The night before he had been up until 10:30pm, so today he took a 2.5 hours nap....hence, he can't fall asleep tonight. He came downstairs to get a sip of milk with Dad, I read him one more story and now we will try to fall asleep.....and the cycle continues :-)

Playdate with Madelyn

Max was so excited to have his OWN play date this afternoon. Madelyn is a sister of one of the girls good friends.

Twin Power

Morgan and Emily decided that since their hair was the same again that they wanted to dress alike for school today. When they were little I had a lot more matching clothes---not anymore. So we searched and found some old Valentine sweaters that were identical. They were hoping to trick a couple teachers at school today. Can you tell who is who?

After school we headed to get haircuts for all three. Morgan got the most cut off....about 7 inches--It was all her idea!
